Xenomorph Sponsors Ridgeway Rovers Tigers U9s
Xenomorph is proud to announce the kit sponsorship of the Ridgeway Rovers Tigers U9s football team.
Ridgeway Rovers FC was founded and established in 1979 by the late Peter King, who started the Club with a small clutch of keen youngsters on the local Ridgeway Park in Chingford. The first Ridgeway team was playing in a league competition later that very same year. Since then the club are very proud to have helped in the development of two England captains and icons of the modern game, David Beckham and Harry Kane, both of whom started their footballing journeys at Ridgeway Rovers FC. Furthermore, the club is recognized as a Charter Standard Development Club by the English Football Association.
The club has grown and developed to where it is now: some 26 teams and building. There are over 300 boys and girls from the ages of 6–18 years, playing and training with the club. Regularly, over 120 plus players attend the Saturday Soccer School which is one of the biggest and the best in the local area. The growth continues with Ridgeway Rovers’ first ever Senior Ladies team, currently the only one in Waltham Forest and for senior men’s football a working partnership has commenced with Chingford Athletic, giving older players a solid route into men’s football.
2020/21 will be the third season for the Ridgeway Rovers Tigers U9s team (starting as U7s) – with the same set of players since the beginning, there’s a real family feel to the team. This season moving from 5-a-side to 7-a-side meant growing the family from a squad of 8 players to 10 players. Playing in the Third division of 11 divisions of the Echo Junior Football League, the team continues to progress well and is looking forward to getting back to playing after the disruption caused by the pandemic. The ethos for the coach, Aslam Alavi, is to make the kids love and enjoy playing the beautiful game but more importantly for the kids to recognize much of what they learn in football can be transferred into general life.
“Xenomorph is excited at the prospect of being part of the Tigers’ journey and we wish them all the very best on the quest for success as they navigate their way through the league and cup competitions. We look forward to sharing regular updates of the Tigers’ exploits!”, Naj Alavi, President, Xenomorph Software, Inc.
