Quick note to say that it was the week of SIFMA in New York, what was once the biggest event in the fintech calendar. It unfortunately continutes its decline, with charging for entrance for the first time and a continued reduction in the number of vendors exhibiting. Eli Manning of the New York Giants turned up to speak, but I guess he didn’t have to pay the entrance fee (to say the least…).
Regardless of the exhibitions decline, perhaps the organisers should start charging for entrance to the Bridges Bar in the Hilton Hotel where the event is held? Seems like the world and his wife still want to meet up in New York around this time, it is just that the organisers need to find some better ways to tap into this enthusiam to talk face to face.
