Looking for alpha

As the buy side embraces more complex derivatives, existing IT infrastructures are likely to be found wanting, says Dr Ian Hunt of Xenomorph. He spoke to financial-i about his vision for changing the paradigm so that technology can keep up with the pace of financial engineering.

Dr Ian Hunt is a non-executive director at Xenomorph, with responsibility for product strategy targeting buy-side firms. Before joining Xenomorph, he was head of product strategy at DSTi. He started his career as head of computer science at London Metropolitan University before becoming a senior manager in technology consultancy to the securities industry at Deloitte Haskins & Sells, which is now part of IBM. He left there to start his own consultancy, which became part of CityIQ.
